Ive said it once, I'll say it again. People think modding a blaster is a waste of money, however if you build it right you can achieve high hp (40+) with the right set-up and the entire bike only weighs 250 lbs when your done. What more can you ask for? As of right now I wouldn't trade my quad for any other atv out there. I hate four strokes so that leaves me with 2 options, the banshee, and the 250R. I can roast my cousins stock 250R and keep right up with a stock banshee, and seeing how i don't do any racing I could care less how fast it is. As long as it's got the ***** to climb the biggest hill around, thats all I need.
Edit: And BTW, "no matter what you do it's still going to be a blaster." Not true, there comes a point when the bike is more aftermarket then OEM it crosses that line. My bike is almost 100% aftermarket, dosn't even have the same engine design, suspension, not the same widths, lenght, height, nothings the same. So no, it's not really a blaster now is it.

You're right, it's not a Blaster, it's a built quad so you really can't call it a Blaster. However.....Scottish05's is a Blaster and without putting a pile of money into it, it's not going to hang with the new thumpers.
I have nothing against 2-strokes, it just costs too much to build one up to be equal with a stock 4-stroke. But remember, this is just my opinion.

you do not have to have a Big Bore cylinder to do it........
Porting , Porting , Porting ,
carb 30mm
pipe = use a banshee CPI
14=38 gearing
v-force reeds
vito's intake manifold
4 over swingarm
Any stock Z400 that would like to get their feelings hurt for free.... come to Missouri ( st joe state park )
you would be amazed at what you can do to a blaster....

I have a Blaster that my son rides. It's got FMF pipe, wiseco, jetted, ported & head mod, around 165 psi compression. It runs good, way better than a stock Blaster, pulls the big hill at St Anthony which always surprises spectators, but our Z400 makes it look stupid and my YFZ is in another galaxy. I keep thinking about doing a whole works on it just to see how far I can take it, but I'd have enough money in it to buy another YFZ.

If your Modded Blaster is not running with a stock Z400......It's not running very good
Just my opinion......
everybody on this fourm that says it can't be done.......It can.......
Ive seen the big bore Blaster's run.....There just ok.....Big improvement over stock i would say.
It's alot more than just throwing parts at it.....Lots of R&D involved....
this bike will be dynoed very soon.....I would bet it will be around 45 HP
also take into consideration for approx every 5-7 lbs of dropped weight there's 1HP
shed the weight and do the math....(rotating weight is even better)...
Too bad everybody's not close to everyone....
We ride at ST. Joe State Park Farmington, Missouri (1600 acer's)
lots of sand flats......
Good all around ridding
Approx 20-50 bikes on the weekend Drag racing.... from mild to wild.....
Just my opinion......
