I know on my CR125, I re-ringed it every 10 hours. After doing this for about 3 times, it wasn't needed every 10 hours. As for the Blaster, I have an '03, and it hasnt had any maintenance problems yet, and I have yet to re-ring it.

A blaster is a blaster. The only difference in the older models and models '03 and on, are the headlight placement, and the rear disc brakes. I believe they are hydraulic. It wouldnt hurt to check the piston/rings out. You can get a compression guage at any AutoZone or Advance and check the compression. That would tell if the rings are holding up, or do a leak down test on it. I would also purchase the Service Manual for it. If you don't have cash for it, I can post it on the web, and you can download it. Next I would do if it hasn't already been done is put an oil block off kit on it, and mix your on gas/oil. That way you know that the piston is getting the oil. Good luck.
