Ok, I have a 1996 Warrior and am going to rebuild the top end soon (piston, rings, circlip, bearings...etc..) And have a couple questions. #1-can I take off the cylinder and do the rebuild while the engine is still in the frame?
#2-how should I break it in? I've never broken in a 4 stroke..only 2 strokes. Thanx for any replies!

It can probably be done while in the frame, but you will have a whole lot more room to work if it is out of the frame. As far as breaking it in, go easy at first, break it in slowly.

If you really want some high performance out of the warrior motor, pick up a kodiak 400 cylinder, it bolts right up,you can even have some bottom end work done and then it can be bored out to about 500cc. another big improvement would be carb, cam,and a larger intake valve with heavy duty springs.

these are just suggestions, good luck

You can easily rebuild the top end, while it is in the frame. If you ever have any questions, just give me an email. I just finished a complete engine in a 1997 Warrior.

54warrior, have you done that before.. using the kodiak cylinder on a warrior?? what year warrior will it work on. i know most compontes on all the warriors are the same but i know there are some minor changes as well between years.. i am looking to get a warrior my self and would like to bring it to a 400 or so without going 60/over on a bore.

just curious, would i need the valvecover rockers and valaves, ect.. for the kodiak as well?? or does the rest of the warrior parts just bolt in?

thanks
