Experiencing some difficulties with my 39's. After holding at wide open throttle for a few seconds, the bike "cuts out" when I get back on the gas. Runs fine when holding wide open, its when I let off the gas then get back on it.

Also everytimg I take off my air filters, there's gas in the left boot and in the left air filter but not the right. Is this normal? This is after normal riding.

I have tried bigger jets and bigger pilots, plus different air screw settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Possibly too rich up top and she's bogging out on you? Or a dirty slide that is sticking on the way back down? Maybe the left side slide is stuck open or in one place?

I would think a float could cause your gas backflow problems, but the FCR's barely ever have float problems.

these are brand new carbs, maybe a month or two old. I have checked the slides with the carbs off, seem to work fine. I have had these problems from day one. I believe I am definitely rich, I lowered the needle which seemed to help. Raising the idle helped also. Im pretty sure Im heading the right direction in solving the cutting out problem. Its the gas in the air filter that has me baffled.

Not sure what to tell you about the gas in the filter. That usually happens with overflow or blockage but it doesnt sound like you are/should be having those problems.

Just a word of wisdom though: When tinkering with the carbs after you've already run gas throught them remember the accelerator pump. I thought that if I pumped the throttle on the carbs a few times it would run the gas through, and eventually the streams slowed to a trickle. Then I tipped them up and looked down into the mouths as I opened the slides, and got shot straight in the eye with gasoline. Man did that suck.

yeah I just about did the same thing. Drained the gas, bent over looking real close, pressed the throttle, and got it on the forehead. missed the eyes thank goodness. what sort of blockages would cause that problem? Its definiitely a carb problem, with the right carb not doing it.
