need info on raptor

Default need info on raptor

i heard that the 2001 raptors are sappose to run better than any of the other models made is that true, because i have a buddy of mine that is selling a 2001 raptor, but is that is not true then i am just going to go buy me a new one? can anyone help???

the 2001 models are the worst to buy. they were plaqued with transmission and carb probloms

i smell BS lol, the 01 models were the first year the raptor came out, not a good year for them no doubt, tranny probs, carb probs, to be on the safe side of things i wouldnt get anything older than an 03

The 01 Raptors had a different gear set. The way the gears were set up made the rappy a bit faster than the later models. Problem was that the trannies always gave way. Tons of them needed to be replaced. The messed up part was that Yamaha claimed it was rider error. So it wasn't covered by warranty.

which is exactly why I didn't feed into thier $800 god blessed warranty that they offered.

Why? The 02 models are exactly like the 03 models. Anything 02 and up is fine, but you need to look at the used bikes on a case by case basis because there can be a number of things wrong with any used bike.
