j/j man.. i honestly might buy one... depending on how people like it and what kind of reveiws it gets, i may buy one.

if my girlfriend doesnt start riding my old warrior more i might trade my old warrior and my raptor for one of those, i bet they haul ace big time!!!



can anyone predict where yamaha will go next year?

Possibly a R1 engine in a yfz frame? could you imagine even trying to hang on to the bars with that power plant in a quad frame?.......friggin sweet that would be!!!!

that thing looks pretty sweet....to bad its still so heavy, almost 400lbs now

I'm kind of disappointed with some the specs. I too am looking forward to buying one but I will sit and wait for a 07 model.


Cons
- Compression is rather low on that machine. 11:1 would have packed a bigger punch
- It's really not a 700 cc displacement.
- If EFI goes out.. there goes your trip or day

Pros
- It's wider than the current Raptor
- EFI, install exhaust and go... no jetting (what bliss)
- Seems like Yamaha finally got with the program and made chain adjustment easier
- Hopefully the airbox is logical

I'm not crazy about Yamaha but I give them credit with bringing out a new machine this year. They are defintely keeping the industry fresh and alive.

Anyone know if it's a new motor all togther on this beast? It looks it.. but why only a 26 increase in displacement from the Raptor 660? 750 would have been more drooling selling point.

The engine on the Raptor 700R is a COMPLETELY new engine design. You will have to REJET but through a computer.. like the cannondale.. via the moto mapping(?)

I'd wait it out, look how reliable the old 660"s are[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

my old 660 is very reliable, besides, im sure yamaha isnt going to make the same mistake twice.

im sure they stuck with the 4 dog tooth tranny gears instead of the crappy 3 tooth ones.

id buy one if i had an extra 7g's to drop.
