those kryptonite cables are junk. last trip to the dunes we had all our bikes locked together with one and my budy lost the key. i cut threw the cable with a pair of dikes in couple of minutes. anyway at home they are locked up front bumper to front bumper an then threw a lag bolt.

I must be living in the wrong part of the world. I dont bother with getting all worried abought theives. They are everywhere but very few and far between around here. I put mine in the garage and shut the dore. If they get stolen i get new ones. Insurance is cheap. Honestly the last thing I can remember getting stolen around here was a old truck that was always parked outside in the neigboring town. It was owned buy the local comunity colage and the janator drove it home every nite. It turned out to be a couple of drunk teens out for a joy ride till they hit a tree. That was abought 7-8 years ago. I dont leave them sitting in the front yard with the keys in them overnite but I dont get to woried abought them so long as they are in the garage. If I ever get my wish and move out of this huge metroplise of a city(around 700 people) and get a acerage I will be even less woried abought it. Most theives are smart enough to stay away from farm places. ALL farmers have guns and shoot first and ask questions latter if ya live long enough.

3/8" logging chain with a heavy duty american lock and a U-lock for the sprocket sitting on the shelf did me a whole lot of good. So did the service door that cant be seen from the street or the house with no lights whatsoever. LOCK UP YOUR QUADS! The best thing to do is have it parked between the wall and the front of your car in your garage and a bench on each side of it with chains going to each bench. I did this for 3 years and never had any problems. I slacked off for a few months and now my quad is gone.

Also, cables and chains do about as much good as silly string unless you have to move something big to move the quad. Lights, alarms, fake video cameras and signs that warn of surveillance are good too.
