I was wondering if an 87 raptor has a 6 speed gearbox? Does anyone own a 87 warrior? I would like to see some pics of one and what types of mods are available to that year? I can get one for $1500 CAD and I was wondering if that is a good price?

It does have a 6 speed, how ever there are some differeices compared to the 89 and up (? the year change) I know the lights were moved and the motor location was moved and not all parts will interchange. Some one else will have to verify the complete details.

Most everything is the same.............the swingarm is a little longer and can be interchanges along with the carrier from a new model if ya like. The differance is about a inch. The a arms are differant (at least the lower ones) But the good news is the ball joints in them can be bought as a seperate ! All newer plastics will mount except for the hood. A little cutting and some easily made aluminium brackets got the job done on mine though. I utilized the headlight hole for the newer style and riveted a little bafg in there : ) The rear sprocket and and the piece it mounts to are differant. Along with the break rotor and mount. No biggies though. Ya would have to change the rotor and sprocket boss it you ever upgraded the carrier and swing arm. I never had any problems with mine though. Oh and the front brake setup and spindles i would assume. All the parts are still easily had for replacement though! So i wouldnt worry about the year to much if thats the concern.

Heres some pics of my 87................

Ya its somewhere around 60.
Most often ya cant go no where near that fast anyways..........its a fun machine to ride ,it may not be the fastest.

but its comfortable and goes just about anywhere!

Thanks for the comment ........2phast4u I try to keep my baby up to par!
