Big Bear Cold Starting ???
#1
I have a 2000 Big Bear 4X4. I love it - it has plenty of power and speed for what I use it for.
But when starting on a less than 75 degree day, I have to choke it. I'll be honest, I don't know alot about these small engines, but I am pretty mechanical. It hasn't been back in for the "normal" valve adjustment, etc. recommended by the dealer. I figured I would change the plug and am looking for a service manual as I would like to adjust the valves, set the idle, etc. myself.
Any advice or help is greatly appreciated!

Hi , also have a 2000 Big bear SE , almost always have to use the first stage on the choke and it is always fussy when cold. Set the valves myself at 800KMS 2 weeks ago, they were still within specs but at the high end so I set them at the tight end of the tolerance and it did quiet it some but the valves have always been louder then I thought they should be . Good Luck!!
