Default Oil other than Yamalube?

We got a big ride in a few days, and I need to change my oil. I dont have time to go get yamaha lube from a dealer or order it. Can any of yall recommend any other oil, that could be from walmart or something. I usually ride in about 80-90 degree weather, should I be using something other than 10W-40? I have a 1997 warrior.

Go to Walmart and Pick up so Castrol 10w40. Not the extended life or anything, just the regular 10w40. You don't have to run Yamalube...you could run Castrol as much as you want, just as long as its the regular Castrol...not synthetic or extended life or start up..just plain old Castrol.

Castrol is just a good a brand. Any brand would work, but I like Castrol the best. I wouldn't use the cheap generic stuff though. Can't trust that.

I use nothing but castrol 20w - 50 in warm weather.
havnt had any problems wit it so far!

I would stay away from automotive grade 10-40 . Alot of them supposently carry additives that can harm your clutch.
Those same additives arnt added to 20-50 weight oils. I dont rember why......but thats the way it is.........: )

I usually am riding in 80 to mid 90 degree weather, so do you think that the 20w-50 is the right way to go?

20w50 would work just fine. But honestly, I never ran anything but 10w40 in my Warrior and it always ran fine.

BTW, I have only heard of those additives in like Start up and synthetic oil, not in standard oil. If it is, it hasn't hurt mine at all.

I would recommend using castrol 20 w 50 motorcycle oil, it has an SG rating unlike auto oils. Some Wal-marts have it, if you can't find it there try some auto parts stores. I run 20 w 50 in the summer and 10 w 40 in the winter. Also Valvoline ATV oil is good too. Good luck!!!

I highly recommend Royal Purple 20w50.

Keeps the internal engine temp down = greater performance and less wear on internal parts!
