alba or herrmann?
#1
what is the general opinion of these a-arms, I've heard great things about the herrmanns, alba has a lifetime warranty of the welds and material. Are they both about the same in terms of quality?
thanks

Being 6'5" about 330 lbs.(+ or - a biscuit or two), and riding a modified Raptor, I would highly recommend the Herrmann's for the following reasons:
#1 Brad Herrmann...he's easy to get a hold of and talk to. Brad will do everything in his power to make you happy as a customer. Try to talk to Alba's or any other Quad aftermarket manufacturer owner directly.
#2 Price...what you get in the product as far as quality and workmanship-you will not find a better made A-arm on the market, period.
Give Brad a call and tell him David from San Antonio suggested you call him. Brad can be reached toll free at 877-HERRMAN.
Before buying my +3 a-arms from Brad, I researched about every other manufacturer out there. The difference to me was the hour or so Brad took with me explaining and educating me on the differences between other a-arms on the market and theirs. Not to mention the delivery time of maybe 2 weeks for a custom powder-coat job. For the $$$ you cannot go wrong with Herrmann's A-arms.
Also, I originaly was refered to Brad and Herrmann racing by the good folks up in Canada...Elka.
Good luck!

thanks so much for the reply, do you happen to have a picture of your rappy with the a-arms on it? I think I'll get the +2s. I'll have to decide what color will go best with my red and white rappy, the white arms, or the red ones?
thanks again
thanks again

that's cool, if you ever get it working again, I would love to see a picture. I was also wondering if you have to do anything to your spindals with the herrmann a-arms like some other manufactures require.

No, you don't have to do anything to your original spindles or hubs.
I would suggest in investing $20 or so for a ball-joint puller from one of your local auto parts stores. Since you will be re-using your spindles and hubs you will have to remove the old-ball joints from your a-arms (lower & upper) to install the Herrmann's.
For the additional $$$ I would highly recommend getting the +3's instead of the +2's. The +3's come with "king-pin" type ball-joints which are almost indistructable and east to install.
PM me and I will forward you my phone number if you have any further questions.

on the website it says "with our large 16mm ball joints." so I shouldn't have to use my old ones right?
