well, i have seen engines broken in like this, take for instance, your car, you buy it from the dealer, first thing I have ever done with a new car even on a test drive is throttle it wide open several times... the engines in our cars arent broken in from factory... as far as off road stuff goes, I think the off road motors are built to at least as high of specs as our cars... but I still follow normal break in rules for atleast the first 2 tanks of fuel... after that I kinda go WAAAAAAAH!!!! but I dont let my motors get too hot...

i smell a fight coming...

i think however you want to break in your quad is fine with me. if you think your way is right then do it. lets all use our own judgment....
