My Wolverine has seen 90 a few times---- IN THE BACK OF MY FRONTIER LOL.. We actually clocked a 07' YFZ450 last week and 72MPH was about it, plenty if ya ask me. Lined up it against a 350 Banshee/modded and a 400EX/highly modded + one tooth larger front cog, they ran close till around that 70MPH mark and the Banshee blew by them and was gone, we figured around 76-78 on the Banshee, the race took place on a paved road with a newer Chevy truck with slightly larger tires which could effect the speed odometer alittle. In the dirt the YFZ450 is extremely quick, better rider on the 400EX rarely got around him. Ill hang behind on my wolverine and enjoy the scenery. BTW 75 is supposed to be tops on all quads and 180 on streetbikes--STOCK OF COURSE..

If the gearing is 14/38, you did not go 100mph+ The engine would have to rev way faster than it is possible to make it rev, to get you going that fast.

Ok so i'm guess you don't know a whole lot about the mods, big bore along with web cams, a vortex ignition, all of those increase your revs.. then you add in a bigger tire size over stock in the rear, hey theres a little more top end, and if you would of actualy read the previous post you would of seen i am not sure right off hand what my gearing is, and i am on a deployment in the desert over 3000miles from home so i can't really tell you what my gearing is!! I have no reason to lie about how fast i went, i could careless if you people think i am cool for it, i'm just stating what my quad has done, whether you believe it or not i don't care! but i do dislike it when people try to call me a liar when they have no idea what they are talking about! have a nice day!

DesertYFZ450, to reach 105mph on 22" rear tires and stock gearing (which you admitted to using above) you'd need a redline of just shy of 13k rpms.

Actually i never once admitted that was what i had for gearing, what i said was i am not sure right off hand but i belive that i might have a 14tooth... i don't know what it has on it right now cause i have not messed with the gearing, but the guy that had it before me might have.. It doesn't really matter cause i could tell you that it had a freakin 16 tooth front sproket and whatever else and someone is still going to say well if you didn't have a jet engine on the back you are not going to go that fast... so seriously.. does it really matter??? just cause yours isn't that fast, doesn't mean someone else's can't be that fast.....

Calm down there big guy. You said you thought you had a 14 tooth (stock gearing) and that you didn't know what was on the back. Well it comes with a 38 and you can't go much smaller than that on the stock sprocket hub so gearing wise that will help with reaching a higher top speed. I'm so very sorry for drawing a conclusion based on WHAT YOU SAID YOU THOUGHT YOUR GEARING WAS...

With a 16 tooth up front and the same setup you could hit your claimed speed at about 11250rpms.

Of course these are theoretical conclusions and don't take into effect factors like wind resistance and the terrain.

(DesertYFZ) We are not saying that yours doesnt go that fast. We are just trying to figure out how it could have gone that fast. Did you take into account the error on the GSXR speedo? If I remember right, most of those MC speedo's give a reading about 10% higher than the actual speed, which would put you at about 90mph, which is a lot more believable.
