hi, on the polaris forum they are always saying the pred is so much beter than the raptor because the raptor has a SOHC engine whereas the predator has a DOCH [ am not sure if DOCH is correct but i know its got a engine thing with a D at the start lol. anyway why does this make a difference, what does it do differently?cheerz

 

DOHC= Dual over head cam.lets the engine rev quicker because the exhaust and intake valves run off their own cam.

Go race one for yourself and post the results..Ive beaten raptors and have been beaten by raptors.

 

the raptor accelorates faster then the pred but they top out at just about the same speed. the pred isnt as tipsy as the raptor 660..

i always thought the raptor was a dohc whoooops

 

on a straightaway who would win casue ive seen raptors n riden them and they can fly like crazy however ive never riden a predator heard they were fast aswell so who would win in a straightaway
P.S im puttin into mind that the raptor has quicker acceleration

 

The Preddy has an awesome pull to it in the upper Rs. Even after I piped my Raptor it wouldn't pull as hard as the Preddy in the upper Rs but anywhere else forgetaboutit.............[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

From what I've seen, and heard, a stock raptor will beat a stock predator for quite a ways. The predator probably has 2 or 3 mph top end on the raptor. I don't doubt a pred could beat a raptor, but I have yet to see it happen.

 

Their almost the same. Depends on the rider. they both top out about the same.

the predator doesn't impress me one bit, I think the 660r beats it accel and then the predator might have 1 or 2 mph on it top endd

 

Everytime i ever saw a race between a 660R and a 500 pred it has always came down to the rider. I believe that the new 700R will be able to take it, beacuse i am hearing that the new 700R beats piped and jetted 660's.
