did you check out those pictures of the Tecate?

If you look around you can see pics of all the old trikes.

The one I find intersting is the link to "the 87 ATC250R and 350X". check this link: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/87ATCs.shtml.

It shows an early 1987 brochure that clearly has an 87 model for those 2 trikes even though there is officially no record of an 87 model. I think they nixed them after production started because of all the problems 3-wheelers were having at that time. It's pretty cool. They also have old covers from the all the mags going back to the early 80's. neat stuff.

Firstly, it's Tecate. But yeah, that thing was wicked, wicked fast. I can still remember the high performance trike shootout from '86....I actually still have the magazine. Tecate vs. ATC250R vs. Tri-Z. In the end, the Honda won because it was the best overall package of power, handling and rideability. The Tecate came in second and Tri-Z third. The Tri-Z was kinda awkward and mellow (compared to the other) while the Tecate was dubbed best for racer types. But the Tecate's power was a double-edged sword: it was a bit weak off the bottom but then had a super hard midrange hit and screaming topend...which is good for skilled speed demons, the dunes and racing but a handful for less skilled riders.

Yes, it was demon and not for the faint-hearted...not that any of them really were!

Yeah, I saw that Tiger over on that site. Wow. I'd be a bit nervous on that trike. I hadn't heard of it before. And it WAS a production machine so I take back what I said earlier about the Tecate....it's the SECOND fastest production off-road vehicle ever on more than 2 wheels. But, in terms of mainstream MASS production, the KXT250 is still number 1....unless someone knows of another.

 

what about the tecate atv and the 250-r aint the r faster??? in the atv world?? and better on the track and handling this is what i thought anyways

please let me know more aspects on both of these bikes please
