Ok, we've all heard how great the 2000 Kodiak's are, I agree. But, let's not forget how good the 1999 model was. I would like to here from any one out there that is like me, and bought a 99 and loves it. I purchased mine in March of 2000 and over the summer I have put 2,300 Km on it. Sorry all you automatic guy's but I really like shifting. And, I have found the single range to be extremely well geared for all round riding. I am a trail rider and have pushed my kodiak to it's limits this summer, Water up to Rack's, Deep Mud, Highspeed logging roads, I have yet to find a situation that the Kodiak could not handle with attitude and power.
• Anyone have problems with there's
• Or trouble free
• Or best machine they's owned
• Or sorry they bought a 99
Thank-you a proud 99 Kodiak owner

Yeah the 99 is a good quad but it doesn't even come close to the 2000 model. The 2000 Kodiak has more power, torque, and it is a lot sportier than the older Kodiaks. The ride is so much smoother because of the long travel suspension over the shorter shocks on the 99 and older models. The engine also runs cooler because the 2000 is liquid cooled compared to the air cooled 99 engine. You also never have to worry about adjusting your park brake ever again since you can shift the transmission into park just like an automatic vehicle and you will never have to worry about your quad taking off down the hill ever again because once you shift into park the transmission is locked. Don't get me wrong, I love to ride any quad but the 2000 model is years ahead of the 99 model and I think most anyone will agree. Ride On!!!

Thank's for your reply. And yes, there is no doubt that a 2000 model will be improved over a 99. If not, somthing would be wrong. However. I believe that the sporty aspects that you are speaking of were a cary over from the 99 model, also having long shock travel and tight steering. Also you would be suprised at how well the air cooled system works. The 99 model came with an oversized oil cooler with backup fan, I have yet to over heat my machine even on the Hottest summer days. Threre will be a power difference because of the new engine with a higher cc's. Once again I'm not kicking the 2000 model ( it's great), but if it were not for the inovative thought behind the 99 there would be no 2000.
