Default blaster took a BLAST !!!!!!!!!

i pulled the motor out and took the head off........ and what did i find?????????? wow a blowed up piston with a MAJOR need of a bore job. i mean the piston flopped around in their, looks like a rebuild to me. now what do i do? bore it .60 and a stroker crank or a 240 big bore, i primarily run around on a farm and dirt roads in the country and race my cousin on his shee, i know he does toast me. what should i consider???? and for quadmans interest, not all of us has an a$$ load of money to buy a yzf450 and dump alot of money into mods. to do what you talk about be ready to spend 8000 to 10000 on it, and alot of us arent loaded so we deal with what we have in our hands. 2 strokes are as much fun as a 4 stroke.

well, if you find the right guy to bore the cylinders, buy new pistons/rings, then look at the lower end to make sure no piston chunks wrecked the lower end, it wont cost that much. maybe 500? I dont know this is off the top of my head. that's one good thing about 2-strokes, they have less moving parts and dont cost too much for a rebuild, as long as the crank bearings are ok.

oh yeah, there are some a$$holes on the forum, just ignore them. You are happy with your quad, and that's what counts.

Lets see, I recently wrecked one of my pistons too. I think im looking at 150 or so for piston(s) - I got two, about 30 for gaskets, and about 40 for a bore/hone. Mine wrecked the rod too though so I bought a used crank.

I think that's probably too much for stock sleeve but I'm not sure look up on LA sleeve's website, but if you put a bigger sleeve in you'll also need to have jug machined.
*******Be sure to check your oil injection pump. If the Blasters still have these anyways. When I was a teen I had an 88 blaster and the oil pump $hit the bed, which caused my motor to $hit the bed.

Why do people have to knock 2 strokes, you cant compare a 2 and 4 stroke. Completly different concept, For example my cannondale will run a piped banshee and will kill a piped yfz but it is also fuel injected. 2 strokes might not be reliable but you cant knock someone else's bike, they put a lot of time money blood sweat tears and pride in to them and its not your job to insult them.

thank you, comparing a 2 stroke to a 4 stroke is like comparing apples to oranges. they may be fruit but they are totaly different. and no matter what the bike may be, people will love what they have and spend their money blood sweat and tears into it. oh by the way, just purchased the Vitos .080 forged superstock piston kit, oil injection bo kit and a boost bottle, i am totaly remaking this bike all over this winter, ground up. ill keep you all posted..... peace out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
