Default A little suprised about the 700R

I saw a stock Raptor 700R race a piped 660 on a fire road and on a dune hillclimb last weekend. 660 won both races. I was pretty shocked. Is a piped 660 more powerful than a 700? My 660 has a CT exhaust the one in the race had, I believe a White Bros.

UM not happing EVER that rappy 660 must have been a sleeper. My 660 has a pipe cam K&N Jetting n there trading races. Even if that guy on the 700 was a bad BAD rider im sure hed still win.

Think about this for a second. The 700R is based off of a big-bore kit, right? (with the addition of EFI). Perhaps Yamaha has the fuel mapping set up on the concervative side untill they are sure that the 700's engine will hold together and then next year they will crank up the fuel to get more power out of it.
EFI isnt going to gain a whole lot of performance but its great for the average person who doesnt want to mess with jetting.
I saw a 700R get smoked by a slightly modded DS 650 X, and I was less than impressed. Lets hope that next year its a little bit better.

From experience, has any body ever witness a race between the 06 yfz450 and 700r? Just wondering.

I believe he's talking about the power of a stock 700 vs. modified 660. With a pipe + filter and proper jetting the 660 will beat a stock 700 no problem. When both have similar mods the 700 prolly has a little bit more torque than the 660, but still very similar power between the two. With both modified the 700 will probably end up beating the 660 in most races, but not by much.

Haven't seen it yet but stock for stock the 700R is suppose to be able to take the 450 stock to stock provided that they both have a decent rider on them. The 450's and the big bores are all so close these days, it doesn't take a whole lot for any one of them to beat the other.

Dude, lay off these stupid "which is faster" questions, keelam! Your gonna have a stroke or heart attack judging by how much you worry about which quad is the fastest and/or best! Enjoy the quad you have and don't jack threads, please.

Stock there is no comparison. The 700R will easily take a 660R. However, my piped 660R would easily beat my 700. A 660R can be very fast with just simple bolt ons. I kinda miss them duel carbs....................atleast until I learn how to manipulate this EFI system.............

Why you guys so worried. Acting like a bunch of pussies!! If you don't like the question than don't answer it. Plain and simple. I didn't ask for your help.
