Help needed with 02 Kodiak
My O2 Kodiak is acting up. Most of the time when I try to put it in forward or reverse the trans will not engage right away. Any ideas? The shifl indicator light also does not change from neutral or part to what ever gear I choose until the tranny kicks in.
I am thinking either:
There is a linkage problem
There is a gear problem
There is a belt problem
I don't know, any help would be appreciated.
I checked the linkage and it seems fine. I cleaned everything up and the problem seems to be the transmission popping into gear. For example, if I put it in reverse i will hear a sound like the gears trying to mesh together then it pops into gear and the ATV lurches back. Same thing with forward but no noise. If I put it in park then go to reverse it works fine.
Any ideas? Is there an adjustment or lubricant level that I should check?
Please help, I want to go Chuckar hunting this weekend and there is no way the dealer will look at it before then.
