Within a few days I will be trying out the fitment of a Banshee rear shock. I might try a yfz and a 250R shock also if need be. I know that a 250R shock has a remote reservoir so it wouldn't get in the way of the airbox. I am thinking about going to an open airfilter anyway.

I was wondering what do you have to do to install front yfz-450 shocks, and I was wondering is there any way to install yfz 450 rear shocks! I now someone said they would not fit but I want to now if there is some way to install it at all!!!

no need to wait..

The banshee rear shock will be to short and will not work without a special linkange made..Otherwise just mounted up the airbox will be about 3 inches from the swingarm and the first big jump will do damage..

The 300ex shock is pretty close in length but it basically the same thing as a blaster rear shock..Just your basic nitrogen charged shock with no rezzie..The mounting areas of the 300ex shock is a good bit thinner than the blaster so spacers would need to be made..Basically alot of work for hardly any improvment..

Yfz shock is quite a bit longer than the blaster shock..So modification to the swingarm shock mount would have to be done..I'm not even sure about the width of the mounting area..

250R shock is a good swap as long as its a 86-89..Those are the years that the remote rezzie's hose is long enough to get the rezzie to the sub frame to mount..If you have one of the shorter hoses your going to have to get real creative to find a place for the rezzie..

Anyways good luck..most of the ones you mentioned seem like more trouble than it's worth but still anythings possible

Just to note, I am using a +4 swingarm. This is why I am trying the banshee shock. since the added length to the swingarm is rearward of the shock mount, the rear of the ATV is raised a large amount.

Here are some things I have on it so far.

A-arms--- +3 up 1 arms american star sport star plus a arms $440 for the complete kit off of ebay....

Swingarm---- +4 extended stock piece from blasterzone.com (part #BZ-78SS) http://blasterzone.com/store/swingarms/swingarms.html

maier silver race plastic, 32mm carb, LT250R front shocks(for now) FMF pipe and silencer, banshee spindles and front brakes, banshee rear axle and carrier as well as rear disc and banshee rear hydro brakes.
