California Red Sticker Raptor.

Yesterday I recieved from the dept. of Motor Vehicles my registration for the Raptor. With it came a "red sticker". For all you non- Californians, we are issued two different types of sticker licenses. A green or a red depending on your vehicle. Green stickers allow you to ride your vehicle all 12 months. A red sticker means that you cannot operate your vehicle June, July, and August, because of emmission readings. This red sticker is supposed to be only for new two stroke vehicles. This sucks! I was told by the dealership that this was a green sticker vehicle, and it should be because it is a four stroke. If I knew that this was a red sticker vehicle, I might not of bought it, because the unallowed months are the times that I ride the most. I'm going to my dealership today and demand that they get it a green sticker by changing the emmisions or I'm giving it back. Let me know how you feel.

Well, that just goes to show you, if we let Gore get elected, we'll all end up with "Red Sticker" Quads, only, Red Sticker will mean we can only ride them on January 1st, between the hours of 12:00 and 1:00am, provided we use Canola oil for fuel.................Vote BUSH!!!
Send me that sticker.....and I'll retro one in green for you with my PC!

$7,000.00 my rear end, this thing cost us $8,000.00 out the door here. I have an old vintage dirt bike that I don't ride, but get registered every year. I may put the green sticker from that bike on to my raptor. I have never had my sticker plates ever called in by checking authorities, but I'm curious, what would the penalty be if I ever got caught putting the plates from one offroad vehicle to the other? I know this is a serious offense on normal motor vehicles.

Go back to the DMV and inform them they have made a mistake. The Raptor is a green sticker OHV. It is determined by the 8th digit in the VIN # stamped in the frame on the shifter side of the bike. If the 8th digit is a "C" or an "8" it is a red sticker OHV. My Raptor has a "Y". Tell them to re-issue you a green sticker.

you can't ride at all, anywhere (during those three months)??? This is incredible!!! I've been riding here in Montreal for 4 months (since I have my banshee), never even put the license plate (well, I did put it the first day, almost lost it, so I leave in the bag).
Man do I feel bad for you! I'm beginning to really think that Canada is the best place in the world...I'm simply amazed that you can't ride at all during three months!!!
When will an OHVer be an important politician? This environmental thing is going way too far!!!
I just can't imagine it...
just mindblowing.incredible
