YFZ450 Problem Need Help ASAP
#13
Four months is a long time to let gasoline sit. TWO people I know let gas sit in their ATVs from June '05 until recently and both guys had carburetor problems. When the fuel prices shot up, some fuel companies blended in cheap fillers. Some of these chemicals are corrosive to parts inside the carburetor. Our local dealer said Yamaha was gathering data about the reports of bad fuel this summer and it was looking like a lot of the northeastern states were getting bad fuel.
If you're saying the ATV only starts with the light switch on, but the lights aren't comming on, you probably have an electrical problem. I just wanted you to be aware of the fuel problem I encountered.
