2003 450 clutch

Default 2003 450 clutch

i took off my primary clutch and regreased it i was wondering how much grease was i supposed to put in . around the slider and the weights.

Its actually more than you would think. Yamaha suggests using the ultramatic grease, and it comes in a one pound tub. You should use half of it, or 1/2 lb of any other type grease. Ive been using amsoil synthetic marine grease, which is about 1/4 th the price of the ultramatic grease. So far no problems.
A tub of the grease is about 18 bucks.
Look in my gallery and youll see how the grease flings out after just 5 minutes of use, The only way for the weights to be lubed after that, is if they can reach the grease thats been flung to the inside dia of the clutch case. It takes at least 1/2 lb to be enough. From what i can see...you cant use too much, itll still work fine.
