He could get me the YFZ450 by March, but some of my friends on this forum just thinks that I am not able to drive it and would waste my dad's money getting it. I agree with them, but I know if I practice now, I'll get it by March.

I agree, And I bet you respect them more to.
I completely agree.
why dont you all learn how to read and see that his father wont let him, leave the kid alone for christ sakes you idiots, dont worry about him worry about yourselfs, he cant work so he cant so quit being pr1cks to him about iti honestly admire the kids ability to realise how much his father works and how much he appreciates what his father does, it doesnt seem like this kids a greedy brat at ALL, hes a very patient smart kid, so get off his case
It seem's to me you need to learn how to read. If you noticed in his posts, his father has had to take on an awful lot of burdon after he had made that promise. His father may well have had good intention to keep his promise. But unfortunatly in today's world when your put into A position that you wasen't expecting even promises can't be kept. I thank under the presure his father is under, Mark should understand, The first sign of being A man, Is understanding. Don't add more stress to his father by making him keep his promise on time. Seem's to me his father took on A whole lot, He should be admireing him for his sacrafice. Not holding him to more stress. Of course today's generation is the ME ME ME ME ME generation. I also admire him for the stright A's. Someone that smart should realize what A burdon he's putting on his father.

MY dad has a crotch rocket and he said that he was going to let me drive it to school, with no passengers, not on the highway, and only when there is daylight with a permite in next year (maybe it's more fun to drive than a quad. And maybe I should just use the money I would have spent on a YFZ450, $7000, and customize the Crotch). He dosen't want me to get a car because of the high insurence prices. I am too young and as a result, the prices would jack up. My dad has been under lots of stress. I have relized that, but I just wanted the YFZ450 so bad that I didn't think about him. Hump. Should I even get the quad?

P.S. to my last post. Mark no offence intended on my last post. Keep up the good grade's. Life has many up's and down's. You never know what the next day will bring. Sometimes fortune and sometime's sorrow. Don't hold it aganst your dad if he can't deliver as promised. You will get their sooner or later.

Mark Violin,
I understand your predicament about getting the job, I have to keep my grades A's or B's or they'd make me quit, and now I have basketball thrown into the mix, which is five days a week of nothing but running for a while, so I'm not even bothering right now. And like you, my Dad said if I got all A's he would buy me a new fourwheeler, but I told him no because I want to know what it's like to have to work that hard for something, and I know I will respect it alot more if I work all those hours for it, and I know you probably would to. So try to make a deal with getting a job, you get all A's or A's and B's, and you can get a job. If he said he'd buy you a quad for all A's, I'm sure he'd say yes for you getting a job. I could be wrong though, but that's just my opinion.

So rousen up your bow, Mark, and play you fiddle hard
'Cause hell's broke loose in Minnesota, and the Devil deals it hard
And if you win you get this shiny YFZ450 made of... plastic.... and steel.... and... wires?
But if you loose your dad gets to keep his money and buy something else!!

Ps: I got most of this stuff from the "Good bye I learned alot....." thread, so forgive me if I used some of your material, or tweaked it a little

I want a job, but no matter what I do, I will never get a job until I become an adult. I think alot about money now and my parents doesn't want me to. Especially my dad. His father died when he was young and so he did his best in school in honor for his dad. He got all A's and wants me to do the same. He doesn't want to be a past good student with knowledge and then have a stupid, lazy son. All he wants me to do now is think about school. After college and all that good stuff, he'll start talking money to me.

Sound's to me Mark that your dad has your best interest in his heart. A smart man to insist on schooling these day's. He probley also is quite aware of his promise he made to you three year's ago, and is doing his best to keep that promise. What you need to realize is he did not ask for all this extra burdon to be throwen upon him. But being that it was he steped up and took it on. That is what A real man doe's. Be proud of him for doing his best. He may not come through for you in the time frame you expected. But A man like that will come through as soon as he can. I am 52 year's old, And have had alot of disapointment's in my life. Yet life goe's on. As I said before One day you may have fourtune the next may be greef. You seem like A smart kid. you will get what you want in time. Wright now I would say don't add to your Dad's stress by presuring him to keep A promise he had made to you before the tragity took place. Keep in mind you only have one dad, And you will probley owen 10 quad's in your lifetime.
