Gear oil for Grizz 660?
I changed the gear oil in my kodiak. I got the oil from my Yamaha dealer..it was only a few bucks so why not go with it as I know its made for my machine. I changed the rear and front differental. It was a farely easy job. Drained it all out then refilled them level with fill hole. Make sure you greese all you greese zerks and the front and rear driveshaft. I would probable change my antifreeze and flush if u haven't done that. Change oil, filter, clean/reoil air filter. Change spark plug. You can also clean your spark arrestor. You should of had your valves adjusted at least once by now or get that done.

Gear oil for Grizz 660?
when reinstalling the drain plug in either the front,or rear Diff.,,,,,be extremely careful,,,,its extremely easy to strip the threads,i mean EASY
the case is real thin aluminum, and the plug is steel,,,,the plug only has 3 fine threads on it so by the time you get it started, its in,,,and if you think it isnt tight, and go for just a little bit snug (and i mean snug, not bubba tight, snug),you will spin the threads right off onto the plug,,,,it happened to me
your only other recourse then is to attempt to rethread to a larger size, but its really difficult because the case is so thin
i bought a torque wrench for this reason,,,i think it only takes 7 ft lbs
