Warrior engine crank rod

Default Warrior engine crank rod

How much slop should be in the engine rod. Mine has very little slop in it. should i replace it? And every time i change my oil i have metal shaveings in my oil. why is this? piston and cyilnder are fine.

well i dont know what you are calling slop. but on the metal shaving if you rebuild on your going to have some. you need to change you oil filter for about the firts 3 times after a built or just get a K&N like i have and just wash it out with diesel. but if your motor is not rebuilt i dont know. i had shaveings in mine the first 4 times i change my oil but i change it once a week after i built it now i change it once a month or sooner. it depends on how hard you ride

Default Warrior engine crank rod

When I got my stroker crank from FST, I noticed a very slight amount of free play side-to-side, but could not feel anything up and down (assuming the crank is held stationary).

Ok thanks for the infor on the rod. But with the shavings there is lots! Every time i change the oil there are shavings in it. I called yamaha and they told me that the warrior does that and not to worrie about it??? i dont know.

mine only had shavings the first two times i changed the oil. Yamaha was probably just too lazy to talk to you...

as my starter clutch started going out and got worse there were more and more metal flakes in the filter. i haven't looked at the filter since the starter clutch was replaced, but i'm expecting less flakes than before

well i will have to check that out. i really hope its not a bad gear on the trany. that would be very costy im guessing!
