Default I need some baseline Jetting numbers for banshee

bike has a k&n on it with bolt on intake, still have stock pipes. I want to take the lid off. I saw a guy with a stock machine and he tossed the lid and it made quite a difference. He had it jetted by his dealer so he didn't know what jetting it had. right now my machine has the stock pilot jet, needle in middle position, and a 220 main with the snorkle removed. What should I be at if i take the whole lid off? Thanks for your help.

Try 240 mains and do a plug check.

240 sounds low, but I'm not an expert. Friend has a clamp on K&N and holes in the airbox, FMF fattys and stock carbs running 380's. He also has some other stuff like engine mods and reeds, but I would error on the high side.

Well he still has stock pipes. So unless he plans on switching to after market pipes, he will not need to jet that big. The stock Banshee pipes are very restrictive and will not flow like an after market pipe.

Thanks enforcer, I'll grab a couple of sizes and give it a shot. Trust me, if I could afford pipes, I'd have 'em. Jets are real real cheap that's all so I'll try this out for a while and maybe I'll be able to get some pipes at a later date. Thanks again.

240s are too low. We have a 2005 Banshee with the airbox lid removed and a K&N air filter, with stock pipes. We are running 320 main jets.

Taking the airbox lid off on an otherwise stock Banshee does make a big difference in air intake.

Muuhahahahaha......thats some funny stuff right there. No way 320's are gonna be needed with stock pipes. Most Banshee's require somewhere in the 280-320 range piped. Drag pipes usually require a little more. No sense in taking the lid off with stock pipes, the stockers are not gonna move the additional air anyway. You will create more intake turbulence and thats about it.
