If you buy an 04 replace the decompession plug with an aftermarket one

 

From my experience before i sold my YFZ my friends 660 wheelied WAY easier then my YFZ did. Also My new Raptor 700 wheelies easier then the YFZ. Dont get me wrong the YFZ can do some good wheelies but it just doesn't compare to the 660 and 700 raptors. This is from experience. The YFZ is just not a wheelie machine.

The pegs are a little high for comfort (or the seat is a little low), but my feet have stayed on the pegs very easily. It is better than other quads I have ridden.

No. The Raptor wheelies too easy, and slows you down in cross country racing, because the front end lifts too quickly when throttling through turns. The YFZ is much better in this regard, and about as perfectly balanced as you could hope for.

I have not lost a drag race to a 450R yet, but I have been beat by them in desert races. Personally I think they were better riders, or more fit, being as they were 20 years younger than me, and not that they had a better ATV.

 

Check the November 2004 Dirtwheels issue for the review on the 2005 YFZ450 compared to the 2004 YFZ450. It shows all the new changes for the 2005. It was basically for convienent purposes besides the shocks.
