Anyway, in that dirtwheels artical, all the bikes were tested on the same dyno by dirtwheels. They didn't take the manufacturers word for it. Also, Yoshi won that shoot out because it made less noise not CT. CT made the most power but lost to Yoshi because it hurt the ears of the girly men writing the article. They said that the purpose of the exhaust is to silence the engine. We all know that's BS. I think most of us would run with no silencer at all if it made more power and didn't hurt the motor.

I think it was fair.
I red the shoot out and **** canned my big gun as a result. I can't believe I suffered on my quad for 2+ years with the BG. I put that CT on and it was like being kicked in the butt by King Kong. My Raptor threw the rod on the first trip. Now that's a power delta! And it was consistant with the charts in the shoot out.
I really have a problem with them complaining about the noise and trying not offend the non-quad community. The non-quad community can kiss my pimply ars.
"We are too big to cater to a bunch of tree hugging, wrist bending, fudge packing, Passat driving extremists. I love the environment, that's why I have a quad....so I can play in it. Let me be!"
Print that in your dirtwheels article mo fo!

I see your point. It would have been nice if all had the lid either on or off. No doubt CT woudn't have done as well.
I realize that the other pipes would have gained power with no lid. But I bet if you called them and asked what jets to run with no lid, they wouldn't be able to tell you. That's what I mean about CT looking at the big picture. The pipe is only half the battle of getting more air thru your engine. I like that they complete the modification by looking at intake too. The fact that they ran with no lid is what attracted me to them.
I bet you will see a lot more lids off in this next shoot out.

LOL I think that old pipe shoot out was done at CT on their dyno. And were jetted per the instuctions with the pipe, not tuned to their full potential. Oh, and don't wheelie over with all those discs on your CT pipe if you have a stock style grab bar.

I know for a fact the CT dyno graphs are accurate to within a horsepower. My bike has been on 3 dyno here in Phoenix, and at FSW'S and my pipe has laid down the exact number CT clamied but one dyno i was like .75hp shy of their claim. Anyone want to see my dyno run of my bike when it was just stock with the pipe and i had it on the mean KMS dyno and it pulled like a 48.66 something. KMS even said he has never seen stock bike pull like the CT does on the dyno. Which could be very useful to know that all KMS turbo/exhaust systems are almost IDENTICAL to the CT design, im not saying he copied them or anything only difference is the muffler is a inch shorter.... Heck KMS even took out the trick little measuring tape and compered the head pipe diameters from my CT to the ones he builds just to check to see if they were that same...... CT may not be the best pipe for everyong but it is a STRONG contender.
