Default Raptor 700 pipe shoot out !!!!!!!!!

LTE,s new 700R proto type system put out 51.5 RWHP is their dyno suspect as well?
I don't know why people have such a hard time with these numbers. I think LRD is showing right around 50 RWHP with their new pipe as well. All these are on slicks with high flow filters, air box lid removed and EFI controllers.

Seems like apples to apples to me.

Thats good info there....but these are still on different dynos...right? It's common knowledge that different dynos read different numbers. Thats certainly not as lop-sided as testing 1 pipe without the lid and proper jetting against another with a pipe and minimal jetting only.....but still better. Do a pipe shootout on one dyno, at one time frame, and if you wanna be fair you run them all in the same configuration. I don't care who wins...it would be fair and one could take credible info from that. I know for a fact that Sparks had their intake set-up available for sale with their pipe at the time of the shootout...why was it not used? Everyone associated with the old shootout should be embarassed for themselves. Considering how this thread started out, the new shootout will probably be no better of a comparism .

Well, you know, the pipes themselves are not apples to apples.

Lets call this stage 1:

The pipes like fmf, big gun, white bros, yoshi, allien, hmf, and pro circuit are casual recreational rider bolt-ons. These are for people that aren't ready to take on major mods and headaches.

Lets call this stage 3:

The pipes like CT, sparks, Trinity, KMS, LTE, etc are for the serious power mongers. These are the people who have most likely done internal mods.

You are simply limited on how much power you will gain by opening its ***. This is what you call choked flow. You have to pry open its mouth and maybe go deep into its throat to reach the potential of these stage 3 pipes.

Maybe the pipes should be broke up into stages in the new shoot out.

The previous shootout was done using a stock Raptor....and the new one will be as well. If dirt wheels or someone else does a dyno shootout on modded Raptor, then maybe we can have a new subject talking about which pipe is better on a modded Raptor...OK? It seems as if you are grasping at anything after reading what I posted, which is the straight up truth. You have been enlightened young man, use the information wisely and hold on to it .

Ok. Did you notice that all of the bikes had differnt jetting? If we are going to do the test on a stock bike, campare apples to apples, then they should all be using the stock jetting. No mods at all, just bolt the pipe on and run the dyno?

Do you think this will be a true measure of how good a pipe is?

No sir....pipes are made to flow and it's up to the owner to jet the bike correct or pay to have it done. With no jetting changes in a pipe shootout, lesser pipes would probably be better off since they are not designed to flow as much air. Without the correct air and fuel mixture lesser performance will be achieved.
I run a powerbomb headpipe and an E-series muffler. The E-series has no end block off plate and the discs are retained.

Why not use a Power Commander at one of the Dyno Tuning Centers. Let the equipment optimize the tuning for each pipe. Use the same air filter setup and then see what the numbers do. They could start with a stock system for the base line and then do the pipes. This would give everyone the comparison numbers there looking for. Apples to Apples.
