Default Raptor 700 pipe shoot out !!!!!!!!!

I have had trouble with dynojet needles. I'd get a fat mid and a lean top. Ended up going back to OEM. So, what is the trick? Set them lean? smaller pilots?

Please share your infinite needle knowledge, Mr. C.

master why didnt you get the Ct Ti needles? Also ask KMS some raptor with identical set-ups require very different jets
FOR INSTANCE
my raptor
11:1
some porting
stage 1
ct exhaust
sixsixt air box eliminator

my other raptor
05 raptor
ct pipe
k&N airbox off

my one raptor runs a 175/180 jet
while as my other raptor the 2005 runs custom jets KMS had to drill out that are about 205. explain that. KMS says it happens on a lot of raptors he has had on the dyno for some reason some of them jsut run better with enormous jets

Are you sure you are fat in mid? Maybe you are lean? My needles are set high and slightly staggerred for best performance.

It ran like **** with the CT needles after the craycraft porting. Going back to OEMs solved all the problems. Stallion is running OEMs as well. It must be a CR thing.

I had CT Ti needles when it had mild porting. It ran fine then. I don't know why I can't run them now.

I had dyno jet needles when I had the big gun exhaust. That did not work well. However, they did work with the E-series exhaust.

I will take it to get dynoed next week. Hopefully, this will get it tuned right to my current set up. I will bring all my needles.

Definately rich. The problem would get worse as we climbed in elevation. If i set the needles leener, things would improve.

What position is your clips in? Are you running stock pilots?

If I am not mistaken, my left side is setting in the 2nd slot from the bottom and the right is set at 1 from the bottom. Thats with 27.5 pilots. The idle circuit was udjusted using a vacuum guage.

That is extremely rich, especially with DJ needles. Who did your head porting!

How do you get to the idle screws when the motor is running? Did you have a special tool?

No porting....er well besides a little clean up work on the ports on the last build. There is a nipple on the top left intake boot....you plug a vacuum guage to it and adjust your mixture screws for highest steady and smooth vacuum. I used a flexible screwdriver for my adjusting. You should be able to pick both the vacuum guage and flexible screwdriver at the local parts store.

Have you ever messed with your float adjustments?

Have you ever had it dynoed? Do they even have dynos in Canada?

I have actually had to adjust the floats several times. Over time mine lower and I have to go in and adjust them. Basically if the float itself is level with the carb to bowl mating surface, you are good to go. It's never been dyno-ed....I would'nt have a clue if dynos are available there....I reside in the heart of Hatfielf / Mccoy country .
