(yfz) reverse
#1
is the reverse on the yfz needed greatly when stuck in tight areas or is thr reverse not a problem in some cases. would it be possible to add reverse on a yfz? and what would be the cost?
-thanks-

I don't mind that much, but I don't trail ride alot. When I do get stuck though, I just push it out or turn the front end around (which is really easy to do since it is only 350lbs.). To put reverse on the YFZ, just reverse the crankshaft, you will have 5 gears of reverse

If having reverse is important just don't get the YFZ (or ltr-450, trx-450R, Banshee, 250R, QuadRacer 250 or 500, or a dirt bike). Seriously, if reverse is important you want a trail riding quad, not a race quad. And if a serious race quad is what you want, then you wont need reverse.
We have ten off road toys in the garage right now, and only two of them have reverse, ... my 9 year old kids Grizzly 125, and the wife's Rhino.

I wouldn't worry about it. I have ridden with a few YFZs and they have two very nice reverse procedures.
Procedure 1: Do a complete turnaround.
Procedure 2: Dismount quad. Pull on rear grab bar.

procedure 3: do a donut
procedure 4: ram through anything thats in your way
procedure 5: do a wheelie and hop off while still holding onto the handle bars and turn around really quick and jump back on and go (my personal favorite, lol).
