Default No Charge

Why won't my batterry charge up on a yami 200 4 wheeler?The electric start will work till the battery dies after a few days,,Any ideas???The lights all work,when the batterry is gone,but maybe there's a broken wire??ANY IDEAS??????Steve..

It could be a bad battery. The motorcycle and atv batteries don't last as long as car batteries. You can take it to an autoparts store and they can test it for you and tell you if it's bad or good.

Thanks my buddy,I'll do that for sure.I think it's the prblem.Do you know if it's normal for the bike to have no current between the pos and neg terminals when the battery is removed.Maybe there's a voltage regularor,that only sends current there when a battery is detected ???,,,Thanks again,,,Steve...

you need to have voltage for there to be current, so if the battery is removed you'll have no current. w/ a fully charged battery, put a volt meter on the battery terminals and start the motor. you should see between 13.5 and 15 vdc. less means the charging system isn't working and needs to be diagnosed. more and your reg/rect is bad and overcharging the battery. sounds like you do have a charging problem by your description but start by making sure your battery is charged and have it load tested to verify battery is good.
