2004 raptor 660 flashing reverse light

Default 2004 raptor 660 flashing reverse light

hey when i am running my quad sometimes the reverse light flashes on and off. does anyone know what this is and how to correct it???

its prob your reverse switch pull it off below the shifter and clean it out real good i have to do mine ever couple months

Also can be caused from idling too high for too long,or holding constant revs for too long without moving. It is controled also by the speed sensor at the back of the engine.

I purchased a 04 Raptor last fall and the red reverse light would start flashing after a short drive. I did all of the recommendations for fixing this with no luck. It didn't affect the running conditions so I've been ignoring it. I recently replaced the CDI box with a BLACKBOX brand CDI for an unrelated issue. Not only did it raise my top end rev limit, and deleted the reverse rev limit, it also fixed the flashing reverse light. Hope this helps someone.

Clean connections, check wire for any worn spots in the coating... and last break out a test light and also after a multimeter to check current and resistance. Sometimes easy solutions fix confusing situations.
