porting
Well I was hoping around like $200 to $300.I want the one of the best places to have porting. This might sound lame but what is exactly porting? I am thinking that that will be my next mod or an Lrd full pipe, what do you think? With the parts I have do you think it will be a good choice?

Porting is a mix of science and art. You can't just make ports bigger and hope for the best. The kind of pipe you use has a big part in it too. When your motor is running, some of the fresh air/fuel mix gets sucked out the exhaust. The shape of your expansion chamber (where your exhaust gets bigger then smaller) is designed to force this mix back into the motor. The chamber is deigned to do this at a set RPM range based on the volume of gases coming out of the motor. This acts just like a turbo charger and is the cause for that big kick when you hit the power band, or in the case of stock pipes, a small shove. When a motor is ported they ask you what kind of riding you do. For trails you would want mid range power and for racing you would want high end power. The ports are setup to a specific layout that is known to work for the kind of power you want. This should to be matched to the pipe. If your motor is ported to give you more power at lower RPMs, a mid range pipe would be better. Most aftermarket pipes will work with porting as long as they are in the same range. Most shops will ask you the kind of pipes you plan to run also.
In the link below, go the way bottom of the page. There is a animation that shows how the pipe works based on your port timing. In porting, the amount of time the intake ports AND exhaust port is open can be changed to higher or lower your power band. Factory errors and other things will be fixed too.
