raptor 700 vs yfz450

LOL!!!!! Boom, nobodys attacking you. Chill out! Were all just sharing our own experiences on these two.
Man, you can't do a fair comparison with your 450 and 700. Your 450 is beyond a simple pipe and intake and your 700 is bone stock. I have no doubt YOUR 450 is a badass! I bet it would beat my 700.........but I'd still race you..........
.........After looking at your list of mods again, I'm not so sure your 450 would beat my 700.........I'd bet it would be a very close race!

Thats awesome!! This guy Boom has all the math (math can't be argued) to back himself up and all you guys can say is "NOPE, MINE IS FASTER". Why don't you call him a "Big stupid jerk head" while you're at it.

Its funny how all these 450 guys get so butt hurt about this crap. Screw all the numbers. Its not about max dyno numbers. If your so smart you would know that. The 700 has a MEAN CURVE AND MORE TORQUE. So weight is not the issue. Ive raced several 450s and waxed them on my predator and get my butt handed to me everytime by mod for mod 700s. Just deal with it. There is a faster yamaha than your precious 450. And anyone who thinks a mod for mod 450 can hang with a 700 in the dunes is straight up crazy. Those bikes own the dunes.

Also, on the power curve on the 700, it's really not a good curve. If you look at it, the arc is very narrow, which means it's best HP numbers are in a very small portion of the powerband. It does however pull some sick torque throughout the band, which goes a long way toward evening out the HP numbers. My point on this is, if you are just looking at HP numbers, you're not seeing the big picture. There are other factors at work.

I'd agree with what 311 said with a couple of exceptions. First, these guys with throw the numbers around until the numbers no longer support their claims, then they have to find something else. Talk to these guys about the Predator and how it has the highest RWHP and power to weight ratio of any of the stock sport class bikes, and they will blow a gasket on ya...

I agree the stock 700 curve is kinda weak. But lets talk in general, most of us have atleast intake and slip-on and thats how most bikes will stay except for a few other things. Now looks at the 700 with slip on and intake and you have a monster as far as hp and trq curve. So the 450 makes 48whp at 28000rpms. Ive witnessed the predator and the 700 eat up 450s all day long with basic bolt ons. When I say eat up I mean they just beat them. Whether its by a bike length or ten they just get beat. All in all all these bikes are powerful and fun to ride. How many of you bought your bike wanting to have the fastest drag racer? Not many and if you did you would have bought the 700 hands down.

1) Unless you are racing for $$$ who cares.
2) Ride them both and choose the bike that fits your style and needs the best.
3) Numbers are numbers,,a good rider will win most races.
4) If racing is all you do you can modify either bike to do what you want.
5) The YFZ is fast, there are alot of fast bikes out there...The YFZ is not always going to be the baddest bike out there...deal with it and enjoy whatever bike you have.

Ok, I'll be foolish enough to throw in my 2 cents, only because I have 3 friends that own a 700, and I have raced against them.
Stock against stock, I'd say they are pretty close.
Piped and jetted (with airbox lid removed), they are close, but my 450 (in my experience) was faster.
Mine piped, airbox lid removed and rejetted against a similarly modded 700 (Raptor Randy)with the power commander installed were pretty much dead even. We raced down the beach at Florence several times, and that was the result pretty much every time.
I will say that the 700 did have a lot of torque, and the suspension seemed softer, so I give that nod to the Rappy.
That is my experience, and I'm sure with differen't riders it may have been differen't, but I think we were pretty well matched up as far as weight and riding ability.
Fire away....... lol
BTW, just to clarify, this was only at the dunes. I have no idea what the results would have been on dirt, or some other type of terrain.

obviously i have alot more done then a 700r just piped, i raced one thismorning beat him by about 3 lengths, and i also watched a stock pred. that was in there with us beat him several times and the 700 was jumping the gun just a lil everytime. my opinion i dont like the 700r i would stick with a YFZ
