raptor 700 vs yfz450

YEAH SERIOUSLY!! did u win the lotto? nice job man! i'd dream of a sig like that!
Whatever u get, ur YZF will be faster. granted u know how to ride it. what kind of riding do u do with the YFZ? if its track then i'd say stick with it. but if u do trail riding, with mud and reverse needed situations. then maybe the rap. but then again u have the Brute Force for that.

yeah he was running "pretty good" thismorning so he said and i came really really close to a 700r beating me last week so i gave it a try and jumped in there. there was me (yfz) 2 other yfz's nearly stock a 450r 200x threewheeler and a kfx 400. we started out the 450r was ahead then he pulled the front end up and had to ge tout of it i was ahead of the 700r but he was pulling ahead i either didnt shift intime cuase i couldnt hear my bike or i have a weak powerband threw the middle one of the 2 but i ended up winning by about 3 lenghts

OK, with a sig like that, just buy the 700, and see for yourself that when both bikes are set up with comparable parts, that the 700 (686) will beat the YFZ time, and time again. I've ridden both bikes, and raptor 700 set up like sikraptor700, will ALWAYS beat a stock bore/stoke YFZ with any availble bolt on parts. I'm taking into account that riders of both machines are with in 20lbs of each other, and both know how to shift....

how bout this.........who gives a ripp about who's faster........get on your quad, go out and have a good time.......i have a 700.....i love it.....my buddies have 450s (honda's and yamaha's) and banshees.....we all race...all the time.....everytime its a different out come........but the bottom line is we are out having fun.....talk to your yamaha dealer.....they won't steer you wrong...either way you go you get a great machine that will last forever..... and just remember......there is always someone faster than you.

I feel the same way I have not yet lost to a yfz and i am not talking down on them i think both quads are bad aZz but i like the raptors overall performance that it gives yfz so smell and everybody puts them up but keep in mind the raptor is 50 pounds more and gos just as fast just look at all the features that the raptor 700 has such as the pillow suspension , reverse , lights also stay on when the Quad is off all that comes in when your out in the middle of no where like i said both are bad azz just what do you want it for that matters the most ???????

Hello all,
Jean-Claude and I'm originally from Lyon, France but moved to Australia for a few years. I'm in the market to buy a new Quad bike and I was thinking about the new Yamaha YFM 700R. The reason for me to choose this particular ATV is for the pure fact that I so believe that this is an all rounder for someone who would really like to have fun and owning a great ATV. I much admit that I'm very new to this sport and I love it immensely. I would greatly appreciate someone could advise me if this is the right chose are should I do for the Preditor or even the YZF450 06' .... Would anyone of you Pro's in the USA know which companies have nice designs like "Adapt IMS/Roll 2006 Raptor Kit" and "OneIndutries" as I'm sure that you must have heaps of other firms that have such quality Art/design for the Raptor 700R. I so very much appriciate fi some of you let me know. Hoo Roo and G'Day from the land down under .... Australia

LOOK, IF THE ABOVE ISNT ATTACKING ME THEN I DONT KNOW WHAT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wasnt coming after you on your opinion, thats exactly what I wanted. What I didnt want is to get into a big pissing match, which you did start to do!
I was just trying to explain myself, as so many people REALLY disagree with me. Still, knowbody has countered me on my rational and thinking. Its just up to experience. Thats fine. I was more out to show, that the 700 doesnt have the upper hand on the yfz. Thats fine if they are close enough that the 700 can sometimes win, but math and specs give the yfz the upper hand.
I would have to disagree with OZARK, as you are cranking out approx 48-50 horse with approx 400lbs. I on the other hand have about 5 more ponies then you do and about 75 less pounds! I'd say bring that $hiiitt on. A betting man would be a fool to go with you!
I just wanted to show where I was coming from. I realize people with 700's are going to say that the 700 is better. The yfz guys are going to say its better. I have both, unfortunately the 700 is still stock...for now....as the girl rides it. As far as numbers go, specs and mags are telling me the yfz is more of a performance oriented machine, and anyone that denies that is a fool. You only fooling yourself anyway, and making fellow 700 owners feel better. The 700 is what it is, and its the best at it...TRAILS.
I love our 700, and am very happy with it....except for the FI needing serious massaging if you do one single thing to the bike.
I like my yfz better though as its more of an aggressive quad. Thats just me though, and my single opinion.
Talk to you guys later, and thanks for those who didnt attack!

...by the way, sorry for writing a novel on your thread. You have to understand, I couldnt answer your question without stating where I am coming from, as some people dont want to hear numbers, specs, and plain math. I felt that they needed to hear where I was coming from, otherwise your thread really would ahve been hijacked, as it would have turned into nothing but, attacking, name calling, and hurt feelers
All of my opinions have been made from riding pretty much every single yamaha sport quad they have produced, minus the blaster. I few years back I had a modded 660, then went to the yfz. IN NO WAY, SHAPE, OR form did the 660 come close to beating my yfz. Now we have a 700, which is stock for now......but I am assuming modded its not going to be THAT different. I expect a few more ponies maybe, but nothing mind boggling. So I am left with modded 660 knowledge, what I have read, and what numbers and math show. I believe I am in NO way bias either way. I, like every one else has the right to pick a favorite, and have an opinion at the end of the day, and its my opinion the yfz is a more performance minded quad, which appeal to more aggressive riders.
Maybe things are vastly different in the dunes or something, I dont know, as I only ride in the dirt anymore!
Talk to you later, and once again, sorry for the novel!

i have a z400 and i'm in the market for a new quad. i ride trails out to the sand and gravel pit's and then all we do is climb hills and jump(not mx size jumps). what quad will i be happier with? the thing i hate about my z is that it doesn't have a strong low end and i have to hit the hills with my rev up in 2nd gear instead of powering up them in 1st. i also don't know anybody with a 700 or 450 all my friends have z's. how is the low end on the 450 compaired to the 700? thanks
