check the linkage, try shifting and listen to hear if it is clicking in the trans or feels any different than it normally does.

I a,m sure it is in the linkage. It does not seem to be making any noise when I shift. Could it have come disconnected.

Take it apart and check the linkage! You gotta start somewhere.

Interesting I just got my ATV serviced on a recall. Next day I have probelms. I am taking it back in the morning to have them look at it. I am not much of a mechanic and would screw it up if I started taking it apart myself.

Problem fixed! It was a loose bolt that secured the electroninc connection. I would have never figured it out. The wire rtuns back where you check the oil. The bolt was very loose and it lost its connection. Service guy tightened the bolt and it was good as new. Didn't even charge me. Waht a deal. Atlantic Cycle in LaPlata, MD
