Good Bye Dirtbikes! Move out of the way!

This thread is hilarious. I think its pretty obvious that any ATVer that thinks ATVs can beat bikes at anything that requires speed is rather naive. Likewise, any biker that thinks ATVs are just for farmers and hunters is out of touch. Our local desert race series is hosted by motorcycle clubs, and has 13 races each year. They include an ATV class on the races that have an ATV compatible course, and if they have a permit that includes ATVs, but only about half of the races each year will have an ATV class. I race the ATV class on the races that have an ATV class, and the bike on races that do not have an ATV class. There is no question which is faster, or has more advanced technology (the bike). And there is no question which one beats you to a pulp faster on a rough course (the ATV). The most fun I have racing though, is when I am racing the ATV and I start catching and passing the straggling dirt bikes (they start the bikes before the ATVs). That drives the bikers nuts more than anything, ... when the first few ATVs start passing them, LOL.
How about a little more tolerance from both ATVers and bikers, eh?

I stick to my original points....
"ATV's have finally leaped beyond dirtbikes. With the advent of fuel injection on ATV's and now standard 10"+ shocks ATV's are not only in the same category with dirtbikers but are surpassing them in many regards. "
"I have seen more and more new 450's smoking dirtbikes at the local tracks,"
So don't put up anymore strawman arugements. ATV technology, fuel injection, frame technology has surpased dirt bikes in my opinion and yes I have seen myself many 450's smoking dirt bikes on mx tracks. Like I also mentioned before go read quotes from Hawk.
As far as adding in a drakar bike and claiming it as under the dirtbike class, give me a break. If your going to say a street bike is a dirt bike then I might as well say a drakar buggy is an ATV because it has 4 wheels. Lets see who wins then. IF you pit 4 wheels against 2 wheels bring it!
Aside from exagerations I still stick to my guns. Move over dirt bikes ATV's just might replace you!

There is absolutely no way that one tire can garner enough traction than 2 wide contact pacthes. Furthermore your in sand. Don't you know anything about drag bikes vs top fuel funny cars. The drag super bikes are fast but no where near a top fuel dragster with 4 wheels.
The same logic goes for ditrbikers. Not to mention you can't tuck a superbike frame in a dirt bike chassis. No way! However you can in an ATV. SO I guess chalk one up for the quad guys...

Someone also mentioned earlier about ATV's not out cornering dirt bikes on an MX track and they mentioned because of the ruts. Well yeah of course dirt bikes screw up the tracks every where they go. Thats why they have to resurface the tracks all the time before quads race MX. If you were running an ATV against a newer 450 on an MX track the ATV would run circles around the dirt bike in the corners.

give me a break. Thats not even a dirt bike thats a modified 24 hour drakar bike. Heck why didn't you just pull the old super bike card. IF your going to pull the drakar bike card fine... try comparing your drakar bike to a full on WRC, or rail buggy. Do you realy want to open the can of worms of 2 wheel vs 4 wheel? Then you better keep this down to stricky dirt bike vs ATV, and by dirt bike I don't mean drakar style bikes nor super bikes.

cctman .......Ok.....I have to ask you.....When you say that ATV's are better because of EFI and stuff........What do you mean by better? It runs cleaner? (yea!) It has better throttle responce? ( I have to go with the 2-stroke Bikes on this one) It makes more power (if you use power to weight ......NO way!) As the suspention goes If your talking stock for stock here; YOUR nuts! If for some reason you are talking aftermarket......I could build a bike that would smoke any 4 wheeler you can come up with (talking on dirt )(If I had the cash too )
Now; dont get me wrong I love Quads! But what you are dreaming of here, DUDE your way off! The quads are catching up in overall performance; but by no means are better "overall" than a dirtbike. So NO,,,the Dirtbike will NOT move out of the way!
I would like to add....I am talking about the MX style dirtbike, and the performance style two wheel drive quads. Comparing apples to apples here. Any idiot will admit that a 4x4 quad does better in deap mud.

How can you argue this guy, he has got to be one of the most ignorant members on here in a long time? Especially with his great points!! cctman, you have got strictly quad guys on here calling your ignorance.
You've done lost this massacre of a debate. You completely ignore the posts that prove you wrong time and time again. Oh, and you never did take up my offer to meet at Haspin! Hell, I'll give you my quad and bike if you prove me wrong.
