Oh please, show the least bit of intelligence with this. There is very few quads out there that is going to run with or beat a 250cc class dirt that is even relatively stock. Im sure someone can make a dirtbike into a drag machine to compete with a full on Bansee. Power to weight ratio, that's enough said and any normal person would understand that.

I would love to see a dirtbike beat a full bore drag banshee. No way that can ever happen. It's physically impossible. There isn't enough contact patch in the sand.

I ride both, and have much more experience on ATV's, since I was 5 actually, and I must tell you that a ATV will not go places a dirtbike will. 2 wheels is simply more nimble, it's not rocket science. A dirtbike will always be able to go faster in about all situations except for maybe deep mud and snow covered terrains. If you are having to wait up on a dirtbike it is because of the rider, he is either unexperienced or he just plain sux. I see you live in Indiana, you ever ride at Haspin Acres? If you would want to meet up sometime and if you can keep up AND go the places I do on my CR250, I'll give you my bike. A quad just can't go certain places do to it's size.
If you want to get a thread going on why you enjoy ATV's more, hey, that is great. But at least don't waste your time rambling off false info about how ATV's are faster, more advanced, and what not than dirtbikes. ATV's get their technology FROM dirtbikes. And not just the motors, but the basic concepts for frames, rear suspension, and lighter components on dirtbikes are applied to ATV's.
Im not saying ATV's doesn't outsell dirtbikes, but a lot of this is because they "appear" to be safe and they are easier to go fast on. That is what makes them so dangerous, people doesn't realize it takes experience and skill to operate these machines at speed. And that is why you see dirtbike riders bash ATV riders, because the riders are morons not the machine. A lot of ATVers go hog wild, whipping donuts in the parking lot making dust, and hardly none of them know proper track edicate which is dangerous. So it is certain ATV riders that give ATV's the bad name, not the ATV's themselves.
And besides, we need to be working with each other agaisnt the EPA people. Not trying to seperate the two and making us weaker as a whole.

Dirt bikers are sissies? Go to your next MC race and look at those guys. Then go to ATV race and see how many guys are out of shape there. Not talking pro's either. Just everyday guys. Better yet, go ride a dirtbike for a weekend and see if you don't feel how out of shape sitting on four wheels has made you.

How come you never hear about someone wanting to take a motor out of a quad, and put it in a bike?

When I said dirtbikes will go more places, I didn't mean between trees. I like how you dodge points and don't answer them straight forward. And where is those fantasy lap times?
And quads do get there DETUNED technology from dirtbikes, and dirtbikes get some of their technology from superbikes like Aluminum frames and engines, which superbikes get their engine technology from F1 cars. The point is, ATV's are on the bottom of the chain. You really have not made one solide point.
And actually the records show more ATV deaths and injuries than dirtbikes, again you have no valid points, do your research before debating.
Being 31 I would expect you to be more accurate with you arguments, everything you have said is simply made up. The only thing that you can really have an opinion on about any of this is that you feel ATV's are more fun.
