Don't worry about it. If I took the chain off my warrior it would do the same thing. With no load, the clutch doesn't have to drag much at all to make the sprocket spin. You just don't notice it when the bike is put together because the clutch won' t drag enough to push the quad at all, it just puts a little bit of tension on the chain.

I would say you are in the clear. I thought you said it wasn't spinning at all but now it just sounds like it just needs a few rides. I have been on brand new bikes/atvs that have sat for only a week and they want to jump forward when you put them in gear. It only jumps that one time then it doesn't happen until its left to sit again. You still might run into clutch problems later on since the motor sat for so long.. but I would just run it as long as it works
