The popping is a sign of lean.
How many turns out is the mixture screw? Does the mixture screw have any effect on the idle quality..i ask, because the pilot jet may be plugged, and the slide has been adjusted so high, that its idleing on the slide cutout, and not the pilot circuit.
Is the intake box all stock, or have holes been cut into it, or is the lid removed?

Air box is bone stock and very sano.
Yes, turning the throttle set screw has an effect, If I go in too far it starts poping and caughing. If I go too far out it dies. I am going to disassemble the carb again, and double check the pilot. There was a ton of junk in the carb the first time, and the tank had to be flushed like ten times until I got nothing out of it while dumping it into a clean white bucket to observe the debris.
On another board a reader claimed to have two of these quads., He told me that the valves need adjusting almost every year? After I go back through the carb, I will look into that too.
Thanks so far guys.

The factory recommends adjusting valves every 6 months on most quads. If this one was neglected enough to have a tank full of dirt they probably havent been adjusted since it was brand new. Even if the carb does solve the problem, i'd still check/adjust them.

Thank you guys!. I always appreciate help.
.....I finally got this thing dialed. After I originaly yanked the tank and rinsed it out there was tons of crap in it. I failed to do two things after that.
Although I changed the plug, disassembled the carb and cleaned the tank I didn't blow comressed air through each jet and passage of the carb. I also didn't stick a filter between the tank and the carb. So I did that today. I blew out every passage and jet of the carb. I then stuck a filter between the tank and the carb.
Bang, fired up, idles smoothly, no burps or coughs. I ran it up into the forest through all the gears good as new. I am going to get manual and service the valves etc.
Now if I get nailed with snow I can actually have fun plowing it instead of shoveling like I have been doing for 18 years now.
Again, thanks guys!.
