ANYONE RESET / UNPLUGGED THEIR KODIAK HOUR METER ODOMETER?
#5
On a Grizzly the front rack and deck lid is to be removed. The jack for instrument display will need to be separated from the cluster then can be unplugged.
The hour gauge and mileage gauge are, or should be, stored in non-volatile memory. It would take more than unplugging the jack to reset those digits.

Anyone have more details? Does the instrument panel not work at all after you unplug that? What about the temp warning light or gear selection lights?

Two things appear to be obvious.
1-You have no business trying to work on your quad,
2-You seem to be trying to keep your mileage down.
The answer is NO!
Once the LCD display is unplugged it will not operate.

I only wanted to know if you could reset the hour meter because i accidently left the key on for 3 days and doubled the amount of hours on my quad without it running. Im not just out to f@ck someone when i sell it just hoping to make up for my mistake. Anyway theres a mess of wires under the front deck and I dont want to unplug the wrong one.

Remove the band from the cluster of jacks. Separate the jacks. You will see the proper jacks to unplug.
I am not so sure if the quad will even function with out the LCD, but, it is wise not to try to run the quad without the LCD display operational.
An additional 96 hours will not hurt resale on this machine. You would be breaking both Federal and State laws dealing with odometer tampering. You may not ever get caught but it is wrong to cheat another person like this.
This thread illustrates the problem with buying a used quad. First, the owner is out to cheat the buyer. Second, the owner in question knows nothing about working on the machine.
