Maybe you should try a trx250ex? They are a good step before getting into the big machines, and they hold a pretty good re-sale value. Just my option for someone looking to move out of a "90" and into a larger machine. If you like the Yamaha brand, Blasters do not hold a good re-sale value.....at least I haven't seen any that have.

I think you should look into more of the line of a warrior or 300ex. There always in traders guides for good prices, and alot of them already have a few mods on them. Good luck.

660Ryder has an excellent suggestion. I have both. Warrior for tight trails, Banshee for the dunes. Banshee would be fine, especially the way mine is set up now with the RB carb mod (except I don't want to get her all scratched and beat up going through the trees and rocks), but there's nothing like the good old grunt of a 4-stroke when you need/want it. If your "tight" trails are anything like ours, you will be cussing not having reverse, even if you do have to feather the clutch at times to get the reverse to work. Warriors are incredibly dependable and have power to spare. Would be worth looking into as an option.

Both machines are excellent, but probably best when used for the appropriate application.

Just my opinion.

Happy trails, either way.

I am also 15 and own a Banshee. I love it in the trails. Reverse sucks anyways and you shouldnt get yourself into anything that you need reverse. Older banshee's do have some issues with handling, old j-arms, but I love mine in the trails and would consider them an alright trail quad.

You can take anything into the traisl if you know how to ride it.

Considering that your motivation is mostly financial I would say go for it.

Well, its a 92', but I guess the only thing you could can consider a 92' on it would be the frame. I also have a CRF 250r and it keeps up with it alright for about a 100ft, then the crf eats it away. But yea, any quad is an alright quad for the trails but Banshee's are a little hard for the fact that is has almost no bottom end power stock and if your not a little talented with a clutch, you wont enjoy it for the trails. I'm not bragging or anything, I'm only 15, but once you get the hang of it, all's you gotta do is hold on and its a hell of a ride.

like everyone else says... its all how u ride it... i have my 94 banshee.. i admit not the best for trails.. simply b/c it gets warm a lil quicker.. not alot of air flow.. but still i havnt had ne overheating issues.. but i do admit it still has the stock tires on it.. which r just about bald.. and it gets the wheel speed up to go up and down hills and keeps spiinnin thru mud on the trials.. by far i belive the best muddin 2wheel drives out there... my warrior w/ a set of badlands has to be the best.. but by far better tahn my raptor
