Default Problem with 2005 Wolverine

I've had my 05 Wolverine for a year and haven't had a problem. Today I went out riding and my rearend started blowing the diff. oil out the breathing tube. Just wondering if anyone has had a problem like this or if someone might know why this is happening.

Thanks

How cold was it that day? On cold days, my old '98 Wolverine would blow gear oil out the breather hose. i read where that is quite common on the old Wolverines. I don't know about the new ones.

Default Problem with 2005 Wolverine

It was in the mid to upper 30's when I started to ride. I called my dealer when i got home they told me it was a common problem and there was a kit to fix it. But I looked all over the internet for such a kit and didn't find anything.

Hopefully this is the problem though. I wasn't able to ride for a couple of months, so this was the first time I rode it when it was cold outside.

This is a common occurrence on the pre-2006 Wolverines. If you do a couple of searches (I'd do it for you, but I don't have time right now) you will find several suggestions on how to keep the oil from getting all over the place. This does seem to happen more on days when it is colder.

Check your rear end oil level and if it is OK, ride on. If you haven't changed it in awhile, you may as well change it while you have the tools out.

I've had the same thing usually after I have changed the gear oil, little air trying to excape (BURP)....but it does make a mess.

Good luck

As I've written before, "T" off the vent lines with one running up to the existing position(to vent air) and run the other down towards the ground(the oil will dump out this line). This will keep the aibox area clear of diff fluid.
