Default 25's on a wolverine 450

Does anyone have them on one? Did you put a clutch kit on with them? Did it hurt your top speed? Plz can you give me a little review. The only reason I am asking is that i am in the market for one and I can't find any good replacement tire for itthat are 23's.

One last thing is there any way you can make a wolverine 450 run close to 60mph? What mods?

Thanks
Sid

I am new to this site so HI all.

well i don't have 25s on mine.my stock top speed is 50 mph. With a pipe, K&N,and bigger main jet it might be able to do the 60. I will find out when I get a little $ for the parts.I am craving more speed. i can't help u with the tire situation I am going through the same thing trying to find something that will work better in the sand.

Yeah from what everone is telling me is that the top speed is somewhere around 50-53mph and I love the wolverine but I need to be able to run with a grizz or at least keep up with one on the road. The mods I was thinking about are not out yet. (I Think) They may be? I hope they will be in the next year or so.

Cam (WebCam make the #88 grind but I think the #84 grind would be sick)
valve springs
hi comp piston and over bore, (I want it to be a real 450!)
cdi
jet kit
full exhaust
intake
clutch kit

This is just my wishlist.
I think after all that it will run like a raped ape. What do you think?

Ok, I've been searching for a long time now and I've only found one thing. An exhaust for my Quad, yet it doesnt look like it comes with the mid pipe. Its only a muffler, now is 225 for just the muffler too much? How else can I find everything or other ways to mod and get more speed?

I feel your pain. but you shoud know I was told by the mechanic at my local yamaha dealership. CDI box and motor limitations will limit your speed to 50-53 mph you can cheat by adding 25" tires. This adds 5 or so mph this will get you closer to 60 (I got 58 or so on mine when i last ran against my old 660.)
but its going to be guttless as hell. trust me i did and it sucked. so to over come the loss of power I ended up adding a jet kit (dynojet) pipe (GYTR) and a cam (Webcam inc.) and i got my buddie to port and polish the head when he put the cam and valve springs in.
It got a little $spendy$ but it was all worth it!! now i got a little more speed and power than i did before and some more ground clearance.
but you should know the stock grizzly still smokes me but in the trails the little wolverine takes the corners a lot better and hugs the ground better and comes out on top.
does any body have a clutch kit yet? will that kill your top end?

Yours only does 50mph? I did 55 with my girlfriend on the back (stock at the time)

I'm trying to find the new ITP TerraCross R/T 25" tire, but no one seems to have it.

What jet kits did you guys use? I don't want to mess with carbs too much.

I have been casually looking around for mods for my 06 wolverine, and there doesn't seem like theres that much out there yet. Mine tops out at 52 mph on a straight away, and i've got it to hit 55 mph down a hill. I also have an 07 grizzly 700, and it smokes the wolvy. If you want to keep up with the grizzly, you will be dropping a lot of money and time into mods.
