Gas can get stale, I think you're right on the line where it can start to go bad. It partially depends on how well your cans were sealed, if it's a perfect airtight seal than you should be ok, but if the cans had any kind of air leaks I don't think i'd use it for anything other than a lawnmower.

Thanks.
By the way, that pic you have of the police at the donut shop is “classic”

does gas have a shelf life: YES

where to dump: ON A FIRE

gas lasts for about 6 weeks and then starts to get old. It will still run, but not as good and will promote varnishing and turns carburetors green.

That's a good question on the shelf life! Now maybe somebody can answer this one.. Say you have some borderline "old" gas, would putting octane booster in it improve it, or is that just a waste?

50/50 with the good stuff? I think you may have something, any other input?

Sounds like a good idea, but before I went and mixed 50/50 with all 3 cans i'd just do about half a gallon of old and new together and see how it works, if your old gas got water in it from condensation you could end up with twice as much bad gas if you mixed it all 50/50 before you test it.

Try mixing some stabil in your left over fuel, in the fall. It will make the fuel usable the next spring.
