Default 2001 Yamaha Big Bear won't start

HELP ... My 2001 Yamaha Big Bear has been running great. I've had it for 2 weeks. Battery just started loosing power. I had to Pull start the other day and started first pull. Battery charged by end of run. Went to start yesterday and NOTHING. Jumped it and turned over and over but would NOT start. I chekced all the fuses under the seat. I made sure the gas and kill switch were on. Choked and throttled and then let it sit and tried it without so not flooded. I have spark TO the plug but did not have my plug wrench handy to get the plug out. I charged battery over night and it's fully charged.

Also wondering what the "increase / decrease" adjustment is for on the side panel by the starter / pull cord.

I will obviosly check and probably change plug. But thought I'd get some other suggestions just in case.

Well, it seems you have checked the obvious, and once you get a new plug you will know if that was the problem. Check the boot connections on both sides of the carb, check your choke and throttle cables to make sure they are not stuck, maybe get a new battery just to make sure. You can always take it back if thats not the problem.

As for the increase/decrease on the side.....thats for the clutch. It adjusts the free play in the shifter.

Thank you VERY much. Sure appreciate the imput. I will give it a try and if that's not it.... I'll be back! I'm way to cheap to take it to a dealer ... just yet.

Thanks again!

No problem....I usually do all the work myself... if I cant figure it out then I take it out to my dads place. Out there he has more room, tools, expierence, and my brothers to help brainstorm. I'll keep an eye out for you to reply...one way or the other. Hope you get it fixed and back to riding ASAP!
