I have ridden both. I purchased a Rancher & love it. If you want the best 400cc quad in its class then go with the Kodiak. The Kodiak beat all the competition in its class. The Kodiak handles very good in the woods, tight turning radius.

If you are looking for something a little smaller & less expensive, the Rancher is a great choice. The Rancher won its class.

Both quads have a top speed of around 50-51mph.

Only $700 seperates the two quads MSRP. Yamaha & HOnda have very good reliability.

If you go with a Kodiak get a 2001 model they added a speedometer.
