LOL!.........Dude, I thought you were kidding about the fan thing!..........
Anyways, yes they generally are faster on the lean side but up to a point. I had my dialed in so good that it DID make a difference changing 1 size in either direction. 1 size richer, it didn't pull as hard.........and 1 size leaner, it pulled hard but wouldn't push to the MaxxRPM.

..........I just wanted to add it wasn't just the jets either. I moved the needles around, tried different pilots and mixture screw settings...........it was a little time consuming but the end result was rewarding.........

shoot 1 size difference. So what do you reckomend i do, Get a dynojet kit or buy individual jets. The jets are 5 a peace and it takes two so every guess its 10 bucks down the tube. I was also serousoly considering the fan thing. I think it will help a bit. I will try it and then tell you guzs what it does. I dont know if i should put it on and start jetting or do the pipe then do it lator. What do you guzs think will it be worth my time or not?

I think you need to buy the filter, remove the snorkel, and drill a couple of 1 1/4 inch holes in your air box then jet it. I did this to mine using the full exhaust system and noticed a great increase in performance. I just went and bought individual jets from the dealer at $2 a peice. You will not notice any diff. if you do not rejet it. I know a couple of sizes does not seem like alot but you also have to move the needles and adjust the mixture screws. Then you will see a big diff.I know there are doubters but I have beat yfz's with similar mods and if you were beating piped raptors all ready then you should be beating them by more now. Good luck..

ya piped raptors with paddles and they were so amazed thinking i had major engine mods and i was only stock. That goes to shot you that if you dont know what you are doing you can really slow up you're quad. The guzs thought they were getting 15 HP from a big gun slip on, What a joke. He had a k&n and said he had the dealer install it all for him for like 500 bucks.

Dynojets are sized in increments of 5 above 150 (155, 160, 165, etc.) so yeah I could tell a difference in just changing 1 size. I like the Dynojet kit (mainly for the needles) but you can use either. They usually cost around $75 for a stage 2 kit and if you were to go with a full exhaust and open intake (Pro Flow K&N) you would need to order bigger DJs from them but they're only $2 apeice. In your case, I would just buy some Mikuni jets. I wish I could give you a good baseline to start from but I have no experience jetting for just a slip on and closed intake.

That sounds like a good start. You might have to rejet again after you put on a K&N. Before you start, go to the hardware store and buy 8 hex (allen) head screws (size 4-70-10) to replace the bowl screws. When you go to remove the bowl screws you'll know why then and thank me later........... .........and 3 more hex head screws (size 4-70-8) for the throttle cover.
